WILMINGTON WATERFRONT ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENT IS RELEASED Public Meeting will take Place on January 15, 2009 SAN PEDRO, Calif. — December 15, 2008 — The Port of Los Angeles has released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Wilmington Waterfront Project. The full document can be viewed on the Port’s website at www.portoflosangeles.org and in hard copy at the Port’s Administration Building and local libraries. Public comment will be taken on the project until January 30, 2009. The public meeting for this project will take place on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 6pm at the Banning’s Landing Community Center, 100 East Water Street, in Wilmington. The January 15 meeting is part of the DEIR process for the proposed waterfront project. Port officials will describe the project and inform the public of its potential significant environmental effects, along with potential alternatives. Public comment on the project will be taken and documented for consideration and response in the Final Environmental Impact Report. The Wilmington Waterfront Project encompasses three distinct areas of development in Wilmington and complements the adjacent Wilmington Buffer Project, which is starting construction along Harry Bridges Boulevard as part of the TraPac Terminal Project: Avalon Development District
