Navy Days LA 2008



United States Navy On the eve of the nation's most patriotic holiday, the Port of Angeles will welcome U.S. Naval frigate USS GARY as part of Navy Days LA 2008. The ship arrives Thursday, July 3 and is open to the public on Friday, July 4 for free tours, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ship will dock at Berth 46 (Thomas Bros. Pg. 854, D-1) at approximately 3:30 p.m., and the welcoming ceremony will start shortly thereafter. For recorded information, call (800) 831-PORT or (310) 732-3508 during normal business hours. USS GARY

USS GARY is one of the "long hull" versions in the Oliver Hazard Perry-class and the first ship in the Navy named after Commander Donald A. Gary. In June 2007, the USS GARY shifted her homeport from Yokosuka, Japan, to San Diego, Calif. For ship information, visit www.gary.navy.mil.
