MARISA L. KATNICH
Director of Cargo and Industrial Real Estate
Marisa Katnich is the director of cargo and industrial real estate for the Port of Los Angeles, the nation’s leading container port and 7500-acre seaport complex with more than 200 leaseholders.
In this role, Katnich oversees all Port cargo-handling (automobile, breakbulk, container, dry bulk, liquid bulk, maritime support, and warehouse) facilities that generate approximately $400 million in annual revenue, including lease negotiations, property and asset management, land use, and land acquisitions and dispositions.
Appointed to her current position in September 2019, Katnich rejoined the Port after previously serving as the director of strategic commercial management at Los Angeles World Airports, where she managed a $400 million acquisition and relocation program supporting airport landside development.
Also at the airport, Katnich spearheaded the Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility project, which aims to ease vehicle and curbside passenger traffic by relocating more than 20 existing rental car locations into one central location, opening in 2023. She also oversaw the planning and development of LAX Economy Public Parking Lot E, which garnered significant media attention when it opened to the public in 2019.
Before joining the airport in 2010, Katnich served as a real estate officer in the Port’s Real Estate Division, where she managed lease agreements for major container terminals. Prior to joining the Port, she served as a field deputy for Los Angeles City Council District 15, represented by then-Councilwoman Janice Hahn, with whom she served as the primary contact for San Pedro residents and businesses.
A San Pedro native, Katnich holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University, Long Beach.
