PORT OF LOS ANGELES TO HOLD 4th ANNUAL LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10

 

Free Event to Feature Family-Fun Entertainment, Activities and Fireworks Show at CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles


SAN PEDRO, Calif. — January 26, 2018 — The Port of Los Angeles will host its 4th Annual Lunar New Year on Saturday, Feb. 10, at CRAFTED @ the Port of Los Angeles. The FREE event officially kicks off at 3 p.m. and ends with a spectacular firework finale at 7:00 p.m.

Visitors will enjoy an afternoon with live entertainment, a wishing wall, food trucks, Los Angeles Public Library Book Bike, arts and crafts hosted by the CRAFTED, face painting, Dream Shapers Storyteller and a host of celebratory activities honoring this annual multicultural Asian tradition.

It’s the Year of the Dog and a perfect opportunity to help local shelter pets find their forever home with a Red Carpet Ready Adoption booth. Our friends from LA Animals Services will be on hand hoping to inspire a pet/ family love connection. Our local shelters are also in need of pet supplies and food (unopened) - blankets, bedding, towels and toys. Pet donation bins will be stationed at the Port of LA Information booth.

The Giddy up Pony Ranch is back with the most adorable Chinese Zodiac themed petting zoo. Children of all ages will enjoy getting up-close with fancy feathered roosters, sheep, goats, pigs, ponies, and more.

Cultural performers scheduled to appear include the Korean Dance Academy of Los Angeles; Fujima Seiyumi Kai based in Gardena, Halau Hula Moani’ Al’a Anuhea, Khmer Arts Academy of Long Beach, Los Angeles Chinese Cultural Center Folk Dancers, Hanabi Taiko Drummers and the Awakened Blessing Lion Troupe both based in Cerritos and high energy demonstrations by the Dragon Martial Arts School of Torrance and the Kendo Club of Venice. Our grand finale is a firecracker & fireworks display.
