PORT OF LOS ANGELES CELEBRATES 2nd ANNUAL LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL ON THE LA WATERFRONT SATURDAY FEB. 6

Free Event to Feature Family-Fun Entertainment,
Activities and Fireworks Show

SAN PEDRO, Calif. — January 26, 2016 — The Port of Los Angeles’ 2nd Annual Lunar New Year Festival returns honoring the Year of the Fire Monkey on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Downtown Harbor, San Pedro on the LA Waterfront.

This free event offers activities for everyone to enjoy with traditional hanging and floating lanterns, face painting, Los Angeles Public Library Book Bike, crafts by CRAFTED, food trucks (Asian inspired and American) and traditional brush artistry and live entertainment.

This year’s cultural performances will enhance the multicultural experience. New to the Port’s Lunar New year Festival are Fujima Seiyumi Kai, Tai Chi with Angie Sierra and the Fantastic Patrick (Magician). Returning favorites include the Giddy Up Ranch Petting Zoo, the Wushu Shaolin Lion Dancers, Dragon Martial Arts School of Torrance, the Korean Dance Academy of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Chinese Cultural Center, Kokoro Taiko Kai Drummers of Long Beach. Fireworks will be the grand finale.   
The Giddy Up Ranch will return with its entourage of animals, which represent the Chinese Zodiac including goats, sheep, pigs, roosters, horse and a special appearance by the Gentle Yak. 

The Downtown Harbor is located at 6th Street and Harbor Boulevard in San Pedro, next to the Los Angeles Maritime Museum.
