TICKETS ON SALE FOR 24TH ANNUAL SEAFOOD FEAST AND SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT LOCAL YOUTH

SAN PEDRO, Calif. — April 12, 2011 — The Propeller Club of Los Angeles-Long Beach, the Port of Los Angeles, the Port of Long Beach and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) will host the 24th Annual Seafood Feast and Memorial Scholarship Fundraising event on Wednesday, June 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the San Pedro Fish Market, located at Berth 78 (1190 Nagoya Way) in Ports O’ Call Village.  Swordfish, fried calamari, smoked halibut, shrimp scampi, octopus salad, and mostaccioli will be served.

The Seafood Feast and Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1987 to honor the memory of longshore workers who have lost their lives working on the waterfront. Funds raised at the event are awarded to local high school seniors entering college in the fall. Since 1987, more than $200,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
