SAN PEDRO DOWNTOWN HARBOR PROJECT DESIGN PRESENTATION SLATED FOR SEPTEMBER 16

Port of Los Angeles to Present Updated Design Based on Community Input

SAN PEDRO, Calif. — Sept. 1, 2010 — After a successful spring workshop gathering community feedback on the San Pedro Downtown Harbor Project, another public meeting is planned to view the latest design for the project. The meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Port of Los Angeles High School, 250 West 5th Street, San Pedro.

In March, more than 70 community members attended an interactive workshop featuring design elements for the downtown Promenade and Water Cuts, Town Square and Plazas, Ralph J. Scott Fireboat Display and the future Downtown Harbor. The plans are being developed as part of the San Pedro Waterfront Development Project approved last year by the Los Angeles Harbor Commission.

Based on community input, Port of Los Angeles staff will present updated plans at the September 16th meeting. Community members will get a detailed view of the revised plans and will be encouraged to offer feedback.
