Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach Win Sustainability Award
May 2, 2024 - The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach have received a top honor from the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) for the ports’ unprecedented Clean Truck Fund (CTF) initiative. The program helps fund and incentivize the changeover to cleaner trucks serving the San Pedro Bay port complex, and is part of the ports’ broader efforts to achieve zero-emissions drayage trucking by 2035.

Los Angeles Harbor Commission Approves First Round of FY 2023/24 Community Investment Grants
Nov. 29, 2023 - The Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved the first large category grants under the Port of Los Angeles’ Community Investment Grants Program for FY 2023/24 to two local maritime educational programs – EXP (formerly International Trade Education Programs, Inc.) and Los Angeles Maritime Institute (LAMI). Supported by Port shipping and lease revenues, the grant program supports activities related to local workforce development, education, the environment and LA Waterfront.

July 18, 2023 - The Port of Los Angeles broke ground on the start of the second and final phase of the San Pedro Promenade along the Main Channel portion of the future West Harbor commercial development on the LA Waterfront. Groundbreaking for the $31.4 million Phase II project follows the completion of the Promenade’s $53.7 million Phase I in October 2021, for a combined Port investment of more than $85 million.

July 18, 2023 - The Port of Los Angeles broke ground on the start of the second and final phase of the San Pedro Promenade along the Main Channel portion of the future West Harbor commercial development on the LA Waterfront. Groundbreaking for the $31.4 million Phase II project follows the completion of the Promenade’s $53.7 million Phase I in October 2021, for a combined Port investment of more than $85 million.

June 29, 2023 - Officials from the ports of Los Angeles and Nagoya, Japan, have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to broaden cooperation on several sustainability and operational efficiency initiatives, including port community systems and digital supply chain information sharing, zero-emission vehicle and equipment testing, and a new Green Shipping Corridor between the two ports. The new three-year agreement builds upon the 2020 MOU.
