Daniella D. Ruiz is the Assistant Director of Cargo Marketing for the Port of Los Angeles, where she encourages business opportunities in the Southern California region, key to maintaining the Port's No. 1 position in the nation. 
 
Ruiz facilitates meaningful engagement with both local community and global industry stakeholders and utilizes her extensive leadership, marketing, and communication skills to promote Port facilities, attract business, and represent the Port at trade, government, and community events.
 
Appointed Assistant Director of Cargo Marketing in April 2026, Ruiz first joined the Port as a Cargo Marketing Manager in April 2023.
 
Ruiz brings to the Port more than 25 years of experience with APL, where she began her career as a management trainee and served in various positions of increasing responsibility on the commercial side of the business earning several performance and achievement awards. At APL, she rose to the position of district sales manager, specializing in foreign trade markets in the trans-Pacific, trans-Atlantic, and Latin American routes.
 
Ruiz is passionate about community service and has served as a board member of Meals on Wheels Long Beach. She has also served as a coach for Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training for several years and has participated in six marathons all over the world, raising more than $75,000 to help eradicate blood cancer.
 
Ruiz serves on the board of directors for EXP. She has served as a mentor and volunteer with EXP’s International Trade Academy since 2012 was the proud recipient of the organization's Bill Stein Leadership Award in 2020. She also serves as a board member for the Propeller Club of Los Angeles/Long Beach.
 
Ruiz has a bachelor’s degree in international business from Mount St. Mary’s University. A fluent Spanish speaker, she has studied abroad in Valencia, Spain and completed an internship with the former U.S. Customs Service.
