Port of Los Angeles Breaks Cargo Record in 2021, Sets Priorities for 2022
Breaking its previous calendar year record by 13%, the Port of Los Angeles processed about 10.7 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) during 2021. The milestone, a Western Hemisphere record, was announced by Port Executive Director Gene Seroka in his address at the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association’s seventh annual “State of the Port” event, held virtually this year.

Port of L.A. Cargo Reaches 9.2 Million TEUs in 2020
The nation’s busiest container port moved 9.2 million TEUs in 2020, Port Executive Director Gene Seroka announced at PMSA’s sixth annual State of the Port of Los Angeles – a virtual event this year. 2020 was the fourth busiest year on record at the Port of Los Angeles, where cargo continues to flow—despite being in the midst of pandemic.
