Port of Los Angeles Signs Agreements with Tokyo and Yokohama Ports to Establish Green Shipping Corridor
March 16, 2023 - The Port of Los Angeles has entered into separate Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with the Port of Tokyo and the Port of Yokohama – to more formally collaborate on sustainability and environmental issues. The agreements were signed by Port of Los Angeles officials during the 2023 California Japan Clean Energy Trade Mission, led by California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis and Dee Dee Myers, Director of California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development.

March 3, 2023 - Officials with the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Gothenburg, Sweden, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further their relationship and cooperation on a number of key topics, including sustainability, digital and physical infrastructure, and potential trade opportunities. The agreement was signed at a ceremony at the Port of Los Angeles this week.
Port of Los Angeles Now Accepting Applications For Community Investment Grant Program
March 6, 2023 -Applications for the Port of Los Angeles Community Investment Grant Program are now being accepted through May 8. The Port plans to award $1.3 million in non-taxpayer-funded grants supporting initiatives that benefit Los Angeles Harbor communities, the LA Waterfront and Port goals related to international trade, the environment, sustainability, public safety and security.

Feb. 22, 2023 - The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will give a progress update on the San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, March 8. The meeting will include a status update of the Clean Truck Fund Rate implementation, status of the ports’ Technology Advancement Program projects, and looking at 2022 accomplishments and 2023 priorities.

Feb. 16, 2023 - The Port of Los Angeles processed 726,014 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in January, a 16% decrease from the previous January’s all-time record. While containerized cargo dipped last month, the Port had 229 cruise calls in 2022 and expects cruise demand to continue to increase.

Sept. 28, 2022 - The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will give a progress update on the San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 12. March 1, 2022 - The Port of Los Angeles has released application information and details about its FY 2022/23 Community Investment Grant Program.
