PORT OF L.A. PROGRAM EARNS EMMY NOMINATION

SAN PEDRO, Calif. — July 8, 2010 — The Port of Los Angeles and its partner, LA CityView, have received a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award nomination for an episode of its Portfolio program, a half-hour magazine style show focused on projects and new developments around the Port complex.

The program, nominated in the “Public, Municipal and Operator Produced Cable” category, features segments about the Port’s Fanfare Fountain, a hybrid tug boat, an electric truck being tested at the Port, and the TransPORTer, a mobile exhibit that explains the functions of the nation’s busiest container port.

The show was produced by Marie Hegwood and Tony Ighani of LA CityView and Sheila Gonzales, a Port public relations representative. Winners will be announced at a July 31st ceremony in Los Angeles.
