Since the launch of the Port of Los Angeles' Trade Connect in 2007, the program has been recognized with awards locally, nationally and internationally for its contributions to international trade development for small and medium sized businesses. The Port of Los Angeles is recognized as a global leader in export trade and commerce.

 

Presidential "E Star" Award


The U.S. Department of Commerce awarded Trade Connect the President’s “E Star" Award for Export Services. The award is the nation’s highest honor for promoting American export trade.

Women In International Trade 'Global Trade Catalyst of the Year 2020' Award


The Los Angeles Chapter of Women in International Trade (WIT-LA) awarded Port of Los Angeles Director of Trade Development Marisela Caraballo DiRuggiero its Global Trade Catalyst of the Year Award in honor of her extensive involvement and leadership in the international trade arena.

International Visitors Council of Los Angeles Honors Norman Arikawa, Trade Development Manager


Norman Arikawa, Trade Development Manager at the Port of Los Angeles, has been honored as the 2019 Outstanding Citizen Diplomat by the International Visitors Council of Los Angeles (IVCLA). 

Two NASBITE Awards


The global business education organization NASBITE International (National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators) has honored Trade Connect with two prestigious awards. The “Program Excellence Award,” which recognizes specific programs developed by institutions that meet a particular identified need in the global business community, and the “Advancing International Trade Award,” which commends the dedication and service of those that are advancing international trade.

City of LA's Quality and Productivity Award


Trade Connect has earned the City of Los Angeles Quality and Productivity Award, the City’s highest award for superior public services and programs.

AAPA Award of Distinction


The American Association of Port Authorities gave Trade Connect an “Award of Distinction” during the Association’s Communications Competition.
